Introduction

A comprehensive security plan is a policy of ensuring an essential protection and safety plan that secure and guide the organization, making sure data, information, ideas, resources and another component of the organization is protected from security threats. This is a protection that helps people in the organization, various production activities, and the welfare of resources and technology in the organization. Aircraft security is a major concern in protecting the lives of many people, More than 500 million passengers travel by aircraft or plane, with an average of not less than 1.6 million people in countries like the USA, Singapore, among others. There are security concerns ranging from passenger facilitation or checking in counter processing, baggage security screening, transit checks, an inspection of travel documents, boarding pass, and flight tickets, gate hold room security screening, and protection of aircraft from the ground to the air. The purpose of this work is to facilitate and design a much secured security plan for check-in counter to gate hold room screening operation in the airport.

Passenger Facilitation (Check-in Counter Security Processes)

There are several passengers that check-in through the counter in the airport daily, there are risks of inflow or outflow of dangerous materials in the country, facilitating security and safety of passengers require proactively ensuring that the capacity of goods transported are safe, items checking in are harmless to the passengers, and capacity of baggage is managed carefully. The use of strategic regulatory systems, facilitating the inspection of travel documents, personal items, and the time of travel of passengers are enshrined with the norm of transportation. The laws and regulations for aircraft transportation in regulating aircraft operations, increasing productivity, and minimizing the risk of damages will require administrative and security procedures in facilitating the movement of passengers in and out of aircrafts. Avoiding the various security threats like illegal documents, narcotics, drug trafficking, and spread of diseases will require security attention in the check-in facility.

Passenger facilitation entails the management of the movement of passengers, goods, cargoes, and other materials through the airport, ensuring that various dangers are prevented, provision of safety environment for people, and rendering a secure service to passenger and various countries. The population of travelers and migrants are increasing; the government and aircraft transportation management are working endlessly to ensure safety movement into and out from the country, the security system for managing the passenger movement is systematic to provide protection from theft, loss, or bad incidence enforced by law (Leese, 2016).

The check-in process by which arriving passengers in the airport provide baggage for security checks, items that are not allowed into the aircraft are removed, only safe and preferred baggage are allowed into the aircraft. The security measures and plans are practical to sustain the welfare of passengers, the priorities of the security plan in passenger facilitation are improve the awareness of risks and response; this is the first step in the passenger facilitation plan, this is the situation where passengers and people with different purposes in using various aircrafts are educated or made to be aware of the dangers and risks of transporting unlawful materials, items, and behavior across the check-in counter. Secondly, implementing security behavior among individuals will help in enhancing the security checks across various facilities. Adapting people into a security culture will help in preventing harmful and unlawful practices across the airport. Training security personnel to be able to identify and prevent threats in the airport will help in customer facilitation; passengers will be able to use facilities without any fear of insecurity (Kirschenbaum, 2013).

Also, the use of technology in facilitating security checks will help promote solutions to insecurity among passengers and users. There are innovative tools and techniques that will improve the security checks and efficiency in the airport. Moreover, enhancing the safety of people in the airport require quality control, effective control, and quality assurance oversight, the status of safeness for global, national, and local services is very important in aviation and transport security. Finally, improving the security between security personnel, technology, and other systems will make the security facilitation very easy. Technology captures data of different kinds, security personnel move with these data to provide safety services, and risks are limited accordingly. Boarding procedure should be safe, baggage should be checked, security inspections should be satisfied, and boarding gate must also have security checks.

Baggage Security Screening (HBS)

Majority of security checks and regulations are done with baggage checking, various luggage or baggage are screened, monitored, and analyzed, most of the searches are done by technology screen system. The inspection is done in order to accept or reject the baggage during the screening process. The physical inspections of bags are done and there are notifications on inspected bags.

Screening of bags follows specified security measures, both screened and unscreened bags are monitored properly, the security and preparation of checking luggage is done before passengers arrive at the airport. There is a regular flow of information between the security, law enforcement, and intelligence team, security measures are implemented before and affected the arrival of passengers, the checking of bags should go on till passengers locates in their respective destinations. The adjustment of various processes and procedures in meeting the requirement for accepting a bag is ensured, all threats such as narcotics, bombs, among other threats can be detected by improved screening of baggage (Kundegorski, et al. 2017).

The security should facilitate awareness and motivation in reporting unattended luggage and threats to securities in the airport, reporting of individuals avoiding bag screening, or personal belongings to be screened, these people are to be reported and sent to law enforcement, including individuals moving to restricted areas, possessing threatening items, or suspicious of a threatening action. The passenger screening system in the airport is a safety measure compulsory for every passenger entering into the airport, as a security approach in securing the lives of passengers, prevent dangerous items, improper luggage, and other threats to the public, transportation and the airport, unaccepted luggage are declined from entering the aircraft and outside the airport.

The baggage screening is carried on after first check; this follows a standard process to screen for explosives and dangerous items. This is called the carry-on bag screening, the process from different factors, the first is checking for electronic items; the security will require the bringing out of electronic devices in the bag, huge electronic devices are collected to be checked through X-ray screening. Items like the laptops, printers, computers, tablets, among other electronic devices are scanned or screened to avoid dangerous and harmful materials like bombs. Food items like fruits, drinks, and other nutrition can be kept in the carry-on bag. There are safe places to keep baby products, food, drinks, milk, and other medical materials, the packing of goods for flight is directed by the security check, the security personnel will describe and guide you in packing your goods to avoid disturbing the screening process, there are a list of prohibited items to avoid bring into the airport, this must be obeyed by various passengers. The screening of personal belonging is done separately, and the arrangements of items in bags are to be done properly to ensure a safe and effective screening of luggage.

When passenger’s property or the item is lost or destroyed during the screening the procedure, there is a filing of claim stage, the item can be replaced or compensated, there is a need to avoid very difficult locks for bags when coming to the airport, this will cause a denial or rejection when these bags cannot open. There are several safe locks that can be used without difficulty in opening. There is also the monitoring of people, items, and activities in the airport and during screening. Cameras including CCTV cameras and other technology for real-time monitoring of activities are implemented in the airport to facilitate the safety of people and transportation.

Transit Checks

Transit Checks are done by mechanic and security personnel to ensure that the plane is safe and the systems are working properly, repairing damages, servicing, and solving problems on the aircraft transportation system. This is a negotiable and checks service to avoid security and damages in the aircraft and transportation, and protect items for transport. Carrying of people and items from the airport to various destinations should be safe and secured through transit checks. The situation where people are accepted by an airline to move or travel to various location, the service counters checks the validity of documents, and screen documents like traveling passports, among other traveling documents. The duration for transit checks is temporary before moving into the aircraft, some people will have to move to a different airport to pick another plane to locate at their respective destination. The check at the service counter has to be certified, the duration of checks is different depending on the destination.

The process of protecting and ensuring the safety of aircraft transportation is regulated at this stage; this is where the servicing of a safe environment to move from the airport through to your destination is ensured. In service of the airplane, the time of moving to destination and return of aircraft of parking is implemented. The airplane transit check is done to locate various damages and problems on the plane, planes can go into servicing or repair for a while, testing the plane is done and only when there is no problem on the plane, then will the flight be opened. The activities involved include visualizing the plane parts, checking the working condition of various parts, and solving any discrepancies on the plane. The return of the airplane from maintenance is provided to ensure the plane is in a good condition for transport. Servicing of the aircraft is done to various parts of the plane; engineers check the wiring system, the parts of the plane, to make sure everything is safe and operating (Yu & Wu, 2015).

There are security systems within the aircraft that detects any damages, or security issues on the aircraft. The planes returning from parking are tested and improved to perform according to the manufacturer’s specification. The movement of passengers is secured, the exposed internal parts of the plane are fixed, and other issued are solved to streamline the operation of the aircraft. There are security systems and health systems in the aircraft, like the oxygen systems, safety tools, tires, and hydraulic systems, among other components that are secured for safe transit.

Providing secured aviation and care in transportation require more tasks, the people have to provide great care and security to ensure the efficiency of transportation and safety of the aircraft. There are several tests during the parking of planes, passengers are also protected from boarding bad or dangerous aircraft, there are inspections of air conditions, cracks, lightning strike, and other hits on the planes, the tires are also monitored and tested. The procedure in jacking the aircraft is tested and checked, the towing of planes is provided to damage aircraft, and there are maintenance activities on the plane to improve the performance. The protection of the aircraft against different weather conditions is ensured to protect the aircraft from getting damaged in cold, hot, or warm environments. The plane is cleaned thoroughly to avoid internal accidents or risks, and all cables are connected properly.

ICA Inspection (valid travel document, boarding pass and flight return ticket)

The ICA Inspection which means the International Certification Authority Inspection is a worldwide arrangement for traveling or moving to different countries, this entails the certification, and body inspection of people or passengers, there are various assessment tests by different evaluators, this improves the value of passenger management system of the airport. The passengers in the airport must prepare to certify the ICA process and stages, the provision of information for maintenance of aircraft transport process, various materials including the documentations are checked and assessed for eligibility in boarding the aircraft.

The travel document inspection is done to all passengers, the volume of passengers will have effects on the documentation and inspection, training front-line officers to inspect travel documents will help improve the security of countries across the world. This includes facilitating of boarder control system, and improvement of air transportation security service. They will check for the validity and authenticity of travel documents, they will also ensure the right people with valid documents are accepted into the country and to various aircrafts. Traveling document is the document issued by a government including passports, among other documents; facilitate the movement of people into and of the country (Lee, et al. 2014).

Boarding pass is the official document that helps in checking into an airline or aircraft; this provides passenger’s permission to board an airplane to various destinations. The boarding pass has a number that the passenger will use to enter into the plane, the date and time of departure is on the board pass. This is needed to board a flight to any destination; there is a secured mobile boarding pass which can be gain from the website of the preferred airline. Documents include passport, paper ticket, confirmation number, printed itinerary with confirmation number.

Flight return ticket is the ticket used to move to the original location where a passenger comes from, the trip back to the original location of the passenger, the date, time, and duration is stated, this allows the passenger to board a plane back home or to their previous location. There is a need for law enforcement to improve the inspection of return tickets from passengers, various securities will help ensure safety in transporting passengers to their destinations.

The good service of the airport will ensure statutory and regulations are satisfied before allowing passengers to enter the aircraft. Upon arrival at the airports, documents are screened to ensure individuals are qualified to locate their destinations in the country. There are two parts of the testing of individuals, to enhance the worthiness of the aircraft facilitation. The tests are consistent with the issuance of certificates or qualifications to move to various destinations; they are when the airport meets the certification standard of transit, and when the engine of the plane is in a safe condition, removing damages. Fixing wear, and deteriorated parts.

Gate Hold Room (Security Screening Processes)

The portion of the airport where the aircraft is linked with the airport with the designated feature, the airport provides a facilitating structure for the aircraft, this a place to stand and wait before checking into the airplane, the structure of the gate hold room varies from different locations. There are various seating positions, a service person, and an entry or exit passageway leading to the aircraft. The room is mostly used to keep passengers especially when airplane delay for few minutes, the gate has stairs for boarding the aircraft, this include movement of passengers between the airport terminals and aircraft location for boarding.

At this stage, there is a need to ensure security in the passageway before passengers move to their various sites, security checkpoints can be opened to this area; there is a need to provide seats for passengers, the security system here include X-ray machines, security doors, detections, and scanners, among other technology security devices. There should be facilities like washrooms, safety rooms, and common safety rooms attached to this area (Ghahremani & Ghassemian, 2015).

The security process in the gate hold room should be regulated by the security management of the airport to ensure that, the huge number of people passing through this location each day do not incur any kind of threat. The improvement of the safe environment of the gate hold room will enhance the safety of aircraft boarding, to prevent injuries, harm, and any kind of risk. There should be water and safety nutrition for passengers in the board room. The Security Screening Security and security invigilators must room from various locations including the gate hold room, there should be a screening of individuals boarding the aircraft from the gate hold room; this will ensure the re-screening for the safety of passengers. In bringing people from the plane, they can use the hold gate rooms available for screening and rescreening.

There is a need to evaluate the windows and safety items in the security hold-up rooms. The pre-flight screening and security are done according to the rules in preventing unsecured equipment from getting on board; this requires effective tools for improving the security system in the boarding process. There is a need to avoid conflicts and misunderstanding, the various security systems to ensure safety boarding should be implemented. Ensuring security at each gate provides high effective benefits, the effectiveness of the rescreening process is done to ensure that various passengers enter into the airport safely, and board aircraft safely. There is a need to ensure many points of entry; this will help ease the rescreening process and identifying items before leaving the airport. There is a need for manpower to regulate the security checks in the various hold gates or hold rooms in the airport.

Aircraft Protection on the Ground

The protection of aircrafts in the management of security system includes the protection of aircraft on the ground. The safety of the aircraft should also be a very important factor to consider, leaving the aircraft unsecure may pose a very significant threat to the safety of the people in the airport. Maintaining the safety of aircraft will require security checks across the plane facilities, including the safe delivery of keys, providing security access for the aircraft, and protecting the parking space of the aircraft on the ground. There are several security problems posed to aircraft on the ground, these include thefts, there are thieves prepared to hijack aircraft on the ground, there is a need to report and imply enforcement laws in protecting various aircraft in their locations. The danger of someone placing bombs or any unwanted items in aircraft on the ground is very high when the security of these aircraft on the ground is not strong.

Also, there are fixed-base operators available to keep or protect the keys and aircraft facilities, there is a need to provide security personnel to protect aircraft always, and this will help protect the various aircraft from being hijacked, stolen or taken. There should be security technologies, and locking systems on the aircraft to prevent unauthorized entry at any time when the aircraft is on the ground. Moreover, there should be regular communication between aircraft security personnel and pilots or aircraft managers. Sharing of information between the aircraft managers and security personnel will help prevent unauthorized access to the aircraft (Clark, 2015).

There is a need to monitor and use a seal security system in ensuring the protection of the technological systems and other systems on the aircraft, there are several types of security systems to use on the aircraft. These include CCTV, seal doors, security doors, among other security systems. There is a need to ensure an effective plan like the ones above to avoid unlawful seizure, hostage, hazardous and criminal activities on the aircraft on the ground.
