The film on Gilbane Gold outlays various phenomena details. These details relates to an overwhelming increase in toxic waste in the city’s sewage system; A case of engineering ethics. Individuals point an accusing finger on high tech industries in the region. These industries as claimed have increased pollution by increasing toxic waste in the sewerage system. The film begins with a scene where David is watching a TV (Schinnerer 2). On the menu of the TV channel reporter reports information on Z corp. David has an interest on the news since he is an employee of the organization.

The Reporter permutes that the corporation deliberately discharged toxic metals in the city’s sewer system. Just then, a phone call comes but David is much into the news that he ignores the call. The answering machine reveals that the caller is Dave. He tells the caller that he cannot answer the call but answer the message later. On the Television, the Maria Renate takes viewers on a tour on the Dicken street plant. The reporter tries to communicate the situation on the plant where there has been an increase in toxic waste. On particular the scriptwriter wishes to illustrate an overwhelming increase of toxic metals on the city’s sewage system (Schinnerer 4).

The reporter further illustrates that the sewage system increase in toxic metals is a result on industries. The increased number of high Tech companies has increased the rate of pollution. The operation of the of the plant that produces “Gilbane Gold” a popular product of the region has a hand in pollution. For a long period, the plant has been selling fertilizer polluted by plants to farmers (Schinnerer 5). The theme of the film is to outlay pollution. Another important aspect that comes to mind is the choice between profitability and environmentalism (Laas 3). The professor further states that since it is hard for manufacturers to produce both safely and economically. Sometimes it become a compromise to either move the plant; this result in job losses.

The government on the other hand losses revenues. He further states that the city initially invited Z corp to invest in the region then impose strict laws on it. The reporter then takes viewers on a tour where she introduces the corporation’s manager. She then takes a tour back to previous conversation of Phil to the TV station. On this recorded piece, phil states that the corporation’s need is to protect the environment in its production. He further states that environmental protection is a priority of Z Corp (Schinnerer 7). The reporter states that while the manager speaks of their operation, they were discharging toxic metals in the plant. Attempts to meet other officials of the organization have gone unanswered.

The film takes viewers on a meeting of the corporation. At the meeting feeder states that they need to reduce their back orders by almost 40%. Collins interjects stating that this is a toll order. Further Collins raises an issue that the company does not care how it is to be done. David answers the Phone call anyway. On the other side Frank states that data reveals that the company has been releasing toxins.

In the meeting members argue on what needs to be done to reduce discharge. There is a possibility that an increase in pollution was not a factor in increasing production. A member in the meeting suggests running new tests. The reporter then states that the company’s engineer and consultant should have more information (Schinnerer 6). Tom the engineer provides information that the company may have omitted the fact of pollution. He states that his advice was expensive for the corporation.
