I decided to make a career change and undertake freelance writing as it offers me the opportunity to keep abreast of current developments in my fields of interest: psychology (general), forensic psychology, occupational therapy and health. I have honours degrees in occupational therapy (first class) and psychology, as well as a post graduate certificate in forensic psychology. I enjoy pulling together the up-to-date knowledge I have gained during my professional practice and management-level experience in the health- and social-care sectors with my theoretical understanding of the topics. I feel each of my specialist subjects complements the others. Indeed, it is often the case that psychology forms a core module in allied health-professional training courses. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, particularly camping when the weather allows (and even when it doesn’t!).
